Military Feature: Cannon Air Force Base awards bestowed

The following received awards for outstanding leadership and service last year at Cannon Air Force Base during its 2007 Annual Awards Ceremony held Feb. 10 at The Landing:

• Airman of the Year: Senior Airman John Castle, 524th Fighter Squadron.

• Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Andrea Lee, 27th Aeromedical Dental Squadron.

• Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Senior Master Sgt. Patrick Fry, 27th Services Squadron.

• Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. William Kostan, 27th Operations Support Squadron.

• 1st Sgt. of the Year: Master Sgt. George Childers, 27th Equipment Maintenance Squadron.

• Civilian of the Year, category 1: Thomas Pacholke, 27th Medical Support Squadron.

• Civilian of the Year, category 2: Gary Rhode, 27th Security Forces Squadron.

• Civilian Volunteer of the Year: Susan Howard, 27th Civil Engineer Squadron.

• Military Volunteer of the Year: Master Sgt. Robert Pinder, 27th Civil Engineer Squadron.

• Ceremonial Guardsman of the Year: Staff Sgt. Brad Huthsteiner, 523rd Aircraft Maintenance Unit.

• Staff Agency of the Year: 27th Fighter Wing Plans and Programs.

• Squadron of the Year: 524th Fighter Squadron
