Artists of the month

Sisters Loyce Troia and Leona Hughes of Clovis were chosen by the Pintores Art League as artists of the month for February. Their paintings will be at the Clovis-Carver Public Library during February.

Troia and Hughes went to Vaughn Municipal Schools and attended Eastern New Mexico University in the 1950s.

Recently, Troia took classes at Clovis Community College and Hughes took classes in Phoenix, they said. The sisters said they paint for relaxation and take classes for the pleasure of learning and painting. They do individual as well as collaborative works, and hope to do more painting in the future, they said.
