Local Roundup: Prince Street contruction begins


Construction of a median divider on Prince Street between Commerce Way and 21st Street will begin at 6 a.m. today, according to a state Department of Transportation press release.

Prince Street traffic will be restricted to the outside lane in each direction during the construction, the release said. Left turns will also be restricted.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in three days.

State officials suggest drivers seek alternated routes to avoid the construction whenever possible.

Turning restrictions:

Left turns onto 21st Street by northbound traffic on Prince Street.

Left turns into the Hobby Lobby parking lot by southbound traffic on Prince Street.

Area experiences vandalism outbreak

Clovis Police are investigating a rash of reports of vehicle windows shot out by BB or pellet guns in north Clovis.

Police received approximately 20 reports of window damage since midnight Sunday, Lt. Patrick Whitney of the Clovis Police Department said.

The reports span an area from Ray Hardy Drive to Sandia Street and involved several residential areas in between, he said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Curry County Crime Stoppers at 763-7000.
