The New Mexico Environment Department has launched a Web-based system to answer residents’ questions, according to a NMED press release.
Residents can ask non-emergency questions, make suggestions, or report issues related to programs the department oversees, including hazardous waste, air quality and water and wastewater systems, the release reads.
The system can be accessed at http://www.nmenv.state.nm.us. Click the Environmental Notification Tracking System icon at the bottom right corner of the page, or go directly to the site at nmenvit.state.nm.us/EnvComp/Incident/incident_hdr_list.php.
Residents should continue to report environmental emergencies that require immediate response to the New Mexico State Police 24-hour Dispatch Hotline at 827-9329.
Ex-resident up for U.S. Attorney
Former Clovis resident Pat Rogers is one of four attorneys recommended to President George Bush for his consideration as the next U.S. attorney for New Mexico, according to a press release from Sen. Pete Domenici’s office.
A 1973 Clovis High graduate, Rogers is a longtime member of the Albuquerque firm Modrall, Sperling, Roehl, Harris and Sisk. He has served as general counsel to the New Mexico Republican Party and was on the board of directors of the Mountain States Legal Federation. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University.
If selected, Rogers would replace David Igelsias as the state’s top federal prosecutor.
Domenici also recommended Jim Bibb T. and Glenn Ellington of Santa Fe and Charles Peifer of Albuquerque.
The president’s nominate needs confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
