Clovis hospital transitioning services

Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis is transitioning its urgent care services from the hospital emergency department to its primary and specialty clinic, Plains Regional Medical Group, according to a PRMC press release issued Friday.

The change is effective today.

Plains Regional Medical Group has extended its hours for urgent care needs such as sore throats, earaches or chest colds. Beginning Monday, the primary and specialty clinic’s expanded hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Same-day appointments and walk-in care are available by calling 769-7577 or visiting Plains Regional Medical Group, 2200 West 21st St., Clovis. The facility is located directly west of the main hospital.

The Plains Regional Medical Center Emergency Department will continue to provide 24-hour service seven days a week for medical emergencies, according to the release.

“If a patient’s condition is life-threatening such as chest pain, breathing problems or major injury, they should go to the hospital emergency department or call 911,” the release reads.
