Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
ALBUQUERQUE — The Clovis American 10-11 all-stars were ousted from state Little League competition on Monday in an 11-0 loss to Albuquerque South Valley.
The first-round losers bracket game was postponed from Sunday night due to rain, and the start of Monday’s game was delayed 45 minutes by rain, American coach Ricky Wilson said.
“Everybody was ready to play Sunday, and then we didn’t,” he said. “I think it got everybody out of sync. We just couldn’t get anything going.”
American’s only hit was a single by Cody Cordova.
