Chicago cuts Greenwalt's season short

Cisti Greenwalt’s recent venture into the WNBA turned out to be a short one.

The 6-foot-5 Greenwalt, a 2001 Clovis High graduate, had a tryout with Sacramento in preseason before signing with the Seattle Storm in early June. She played in four games for the Storm, scoring two points and grabbing eight rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

On June 30, Seattle traded her, along with a second-round draft pick in 2007, to the expansion Chicago Sky for 6-foot-4 center Ashley Robinson. But the Sky, currently 3-14 and tied for last in the Eastern Conference, cut her the next day.

Greenwalt’s mother, Terri, said Cisti has returned to the Sacramento area and will probably head overseas to play in September with the hopes of having another shot at the WNBA next season.
