Nite Owl Extension Club

The Nite Owl Extension Club met at the Extension Building on May 4 with 11 members present.

The meeting was called to order by Charlotte Adams.

Members agreed to hold future meetings at the Baxter-Curren Senior Citizen Center on the first and third Wednesdays.

The door prize was donated by Arleen and won by Dorothy Acrey.

Molly was named to give the next program.

Nite Owls met May 17 at the senior center with nine members present. After a short business meeting the club made bookmarks.

Linda will present the next program on June 21.

Agnes won the door prize donated by Dorothy Acrey.

Pleasant Hill Women's Club

The women of the Pleasant Hill Women’s Club met on May 18 for their final meeting this year. The program was home tours. Members and guests toured the lovely country home of Justin and Kim Barnes in the Pleasant Hill community. They then traveled to the Fuzhou Buffet in Clovis for lunch.

Following lunch, the women met at the home of Dennis and Melba Reid on Colonial Estates Parkway. Mrs. Reid gave a guided tour of her beautiful home and then served light refreshments to club members and guests.

President Lueta Clark called the business meeting to order. She welcomed the guests: Helen Kelley, Doris Widner, Betty Jackson, Sheila Phillips, Kim Barnes, Alta Geries, Gertrude Davis, Misty Barnes, Norma Nagel, Charlotte Ogilvie, Emmie Love and hostess Melba Reid. Jean Thomas called roll with members answering with program ideas. The April Club meeting had been canceled so no minutes were read. Bertha Kelley and Lueta Clark reported on the tour of the Lighthouse Mission in March. Secret pals were revealed.

New officers were elected for 2006-2007: Lueta Clark, president and reporter; Bertha Kelley, vice president; Alice Pierce, secretary; and Kaye Barnes, treasurer. The meeting was then adjourned. Hostess Melba Reid was thanked.
