David Ray Bock, 54, of Farwell, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at his home.
Born May 5, 1951, in Eureka, Calif., to George and Rita Swing Bock, he married Wanna Leasa Menning on Aug. 7, 1999, in Farwell.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He moved from Greenville, S.C., to Farwell, where he had been a resident for the last nine years.
Family members said he loved to travel in his motor home, and he loved his pets, camping and fishing. He was a member of Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Olesen; his great-grandparents, and brother-in-law, Royce Roger Menning.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, David R. Bock Jr. of New Mexico and Charles Bock of Texas; his grandmother, Pearl E. Holst, and his mother, Rita L. Olesen, both of Fortuna, Calif.; his siblings, Sharon Williams (and husband, Jim) of Arkansas, Carol Harris of California, George Bock (Virginia) and Mardith Rose (David), all of Oregon, James Bock (Gloria) of New Mexico, and Andrew Bock-Olesen and Dianna Olesen of California; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Sharon Menning of Farwell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rock and Vivian Menning of Texas, Shawn and Deborah Menning of Minnesota, and Heather and Brian Lawrence of West Virginia; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Scott Spitsberg will officiate services. Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery, Farwell.
Joe Bledsoe, Joe Walker, Clint Knight, Montana Jones, Greg Howard and David Wolven will serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests memorials to Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church.
