Brannon Sr., Quincey

Quincey Brannon Sr., 66, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006.

He was born Sept. 9, 1939, 1939, in Colorado City, Texas, to Charles and Maxine Brannon. He graduated from Portales High School in 1958. He married Shirley Ann Ingram on June 9, 1958, in Portales. He worked for Sam Sanders Gravel Pit before moving to Amarillo in 1966. He worked for J. Lee Milligan for many years as a rock crusher foreman. He retired with the city of Amarillo as a heavy equipment operator.

Family members said he loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Brannon in March 2006, and a sister, Merlene Brannon in 1947.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jana Washburn (and husband, Dwain) of Fritch, Texas; two sons, Quincy Leon “Bud” Brannon Jr. and Charles Henry “Chuck” Brannon, both of Amarillo; a sister, Karen Faye Brannon Smith of Amarillo; a brother, Troy Lee Brannon of Amarillo; his mother, Maxine Brannon; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Christian Children’s Home, 1356 New Mexico, Hwy. 236, Portales, NM 88130
