Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

At 6 p.m. on Friday, police were flagged down by three Clovis airman ranging in age from 20 to 24 on the 300 block of Second Street. The men told police they had been playing basketball at a nearby gym when they were beaten up by other players that they said were in gangs. The men were worried an incident could erupt in the future. The case is active pending further developments.

At 9:20 p.m. on Friday, police arrested a 34-year-old Texico man for possessing 0.1 gram of marijuana and a pipe, after he was pulled over for going three miles above the speed limit on Highway 60/84.

At noon on Saturday, police responded to a home on the 2900 block of Horn Avenue in reference to a call of harassment. The female resident, 32, told police her ex-boyfriend of three years keeps calling her, and she feels frightened by his behavior. Police told her to attain a domestic violence order for her own protection.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday, a 20-year-old Clovis man was arrested for possessing marijuana, after he was pulled over for speeding and disobeying traffic signs. Police smelled marijuana from the car after he was pulled over on the 1300 block of Lea Street, and the driver handed an officer a marijuana cigarette upon request.
