Helen Geane Modersohn

Helen Geane Modersohn, 71, of Clovis, died Thursday, Feb. 16, at Retirement Ranch.

She was born July 9, 1934, in Wellington, Kan., to Roy and Helen Ireland Swearingen.

She moved with her family to Clovis in 1942. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1952. She married Vance Modersohn in 1957 in Downers Grove, Ill. She worked for Sprint in Kansas City, Kan., until she retired 1998 and moved back to Clovis. She was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Charlene Shire.

She is survived by a daughter, Marsha Prescott (and husband, Roy) of Loon Lake, Wash.; a son, Timothy Modersohn of Kearney, Mo.; a sister, Gerry Johnson (Bob) of Clovis; five grandchildren; and a niece, Denise Gendreau of Clovis.

Mike Kennedy will officiate.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ron Johnson, Darryl Baldwin, Steve Credle, Chris Kincheloe, Mark Logan and Doug Schwartz.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the 21st Street Church of Christ.
