Mrs. Maedelle Martin, 82, of Clovis died Jan. 16, 2006, at Retirement Ranch after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 1, 1923, Fargo, Texas, to Charlie and Magdalene Glover.
She attended schools in Pleasant Hill and Clovis, graduating from Benson’s School of Business and Commerce.
She was a bookkeeper at Thompson’s Furniture in the 1950s, and worked for Southwestern Investment Co. for many years.
Family members said she was a wonderful seamstress and homemaker and a favorite past-time was painting pictures of the Southwest. She was a past member of Pintores Art League and displayed and marketed paintings at the Triangle Home Center Gallery for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow Martin in 1985; and three brothers, Ralph, Bo and Clois Glover.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn White (and husband, Charles) of Blanco and Charlotte Howell (Jim) of Clovis; two sisters, Jean Kriegel of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Omega Simpson of Clovis; three grandchildren, Mike Hicks of El Paso, Texas, Terese Kane of Lewis, Del., and Johnnalee Voss of Guthrie, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mike Kennedy will officiate services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
