Mrs. Margaret Ann Riley Brewer, 66, of Clovis, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2006, at her home.
She was born March 13, 1939, in Clovis, to Leo Riley and Alice Riley Yourell.
She married Bill Brewer on Aug. 4, 1956, in Clovis. She began a career at the Foxy Drive-In restaurant as a car-hop and later became a manager there with A.C. Bryant for more than 20 years. She also worked at Turner’s Department Store and Frame and Art.
Family members said she was a fun-loving, warm and quick-witted woman who touched many lives with her love and her caring and unending sense of humor. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved to write poems, they said.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Alice Theobald, Marie Skaggs, Charlotte Wilson and Pauline Pape; and two brothers, Sid and John Riley.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Barry Brewer (and wife, Tracy) of Kenai, Alaska; a daughter, Beverly Brewer of Clovis; three granddaughters, Kamela and Kelsey Brewer and Alicia Maltby (Shawn); two great-grandsons, Dylan and Carson Maltby; two brothers, Earl Riley (Marlene) of Clovis and James Riley of New Orleans, La.; a sister, Betty Guthals (Eugene) of Clovis; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews
A graveside ceremony will follow the memorial service.
Services will be officiated by Eugene Guthals and Bishop Charles Green.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Coffey, Steve Wilson, Ricky Boddy, Gordon Wilson, Scott Felker and Jay Henson
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
