Dines, Billie J.

Billie June Dines, 71, of Clovis, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.

She was born April 7, 1934, in Albuquerque, to Grace Elizabeth and Robert Scott Kennedy. She graduated from Raton High School with honors. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the local electric company in Raton. She married David Dines in 1963 in Clovis. After about a year, they moved to Michigan and later to California and Oregon. They finally settled in Florida, where she lived until moving to Clovis in the spring of 2005 to be near her sister.

She was a member of the Baptist Church. Family members said she was active in the church and a committed Christian.

Family members said every decision she made came after a great deal of prayer and concern for God’s will for her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Scott Kennedy Jr .; a sister, Sharon Anne Murphy; a son, David Dines Jr .; and her husband, David Dines.

Survivors include a brother, Sam Kennedy of Denver, Colo .; and a sister, Colleen Yates of Clovis.

The Rev. J.R. “Dick” Ross officiated.
