GOODWELL, Okla. — Senior guard Eddie Moss hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 40 seconds left, highlighting a game-ending 10-0 run that lifted Oklahoma Panhandle State past Eastern New Mexico University 62-59 on Friday for the Aggies’ first win of the season.
Nick Malinowski and Aaron Harrison posted double-doubles for Panhandle (1-10), scoring 15 and 13 points, respectively, and each grabbing 10 rebounds. Harrison was playing his first game of the season coming off an injury while Panhandle point guard Tim Anderson also missed the entire first semester due to academics.
Junior post mikal Monette had a double-double for the Greyhounds (4-7) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while junior guard Tristan Largent finished with 11 points.
The game was nip-and-tuck most of the way, but the Hounds opened a 59-52 lead with three minutes left before the Aggies rallied.
After Moss’ 3-pointer, the Hounds missed a game-tying shot with six seconds left. They had one final crack after a Panhandle free throw made it a 3-point lead, but Largent’s shot from the left corner was off the mark..
