El Portal Chapter
The El Portal Chapter club met at 6 p.m on Dec. 10 at the Territorial Restaurant in Portales. The program focused on Christmas traditions.
Nine members of El Portal Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and 10 guests held a formal evening of dining.
Regent Wanda Dunn presided over a short meeting.
Linda Baldock presented a program on the history of Christmas traditions and customs. Various Christmas songs were sung as the program progressed from colonial times to the present.
The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Jan. 10 at 200 Acoma, hosted by Jessie Strauch and Bernice Baker. The meeting will feature a visit from State Regent Suzanne Heske. Special instructions are to wear white gloves.
