New maintenance contract now includes small appliance repair for dorm residents

Starting Jan. 1, Ameritac Incorporated will provide all current housing maintenance and repair needs plus several additional services including appliance repair for dorm residents, said Mr. Tim Farmer, Housing Flight Chief, 27th Civil Engineer Squadron.

Ameritac Inc. will also handle tree maintenance and grounds maintenance within the housing common areas and for vacant units. In the past, these functions were handled by three separate contractors.

“Housing residents should see no reduction in services,” said Angela Maher, 27th Contracting Squadron, “but instead will find services will be more efficient since they will now be handled by one contractor.”

The contract was awarded with a period of performance consisting of a 9-month base period ending Sept. 30, 2006, plus four 12-month option periods through Sept. 30, 2010.
