Cold-shooting Hounds lose at Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. — Arthur Trousdell posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the host Cameron Aggies held Eastern New Mexico University without a field goal for the first 18:16 of the game en route to an easy 58-42 win in Saturday’s Lone Star Conference crossover game at Aggie Gym.

Willie Tisdale also scored 14 and Matt Reid added 11 for Cameron (3-2), which jumped out to a 27-6 lead before Tristan Largent hit a layup for the Greyhounds (3-3) at the 1:44 mark of the first half.

Largent was ENMU’s only double-figure scorer with 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting. Stephen Wilson added eight and Joshua Jackson seven for the Greyhounds.

Largent’s layup sparked a 6-0 run to close out the first half, but the Greyhounds were done in at halftime by their 15.8 percent shooting (3-of-19, 0-of-7 from 3-point range) in the game’s first 20 minutes. Eastern played even with the Aggies in the second half and finished the game shooting 28.3 percent from the field.

The Aggies, meanwhile, shot 47.6 percent (20-of-42) for the night.

The Greyhound return home Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. crossover game against Texas A&M-Commerce.
