Hammar, Beverly A.

Beverly Ann Angwin Hammar, 78, a longtime Clovis resident, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.

She was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Concord, N.H., to Harry and Annie Thompson Angwin. She grew up in Concord. She married Arnold “Herb” Hammar on Nov. 6, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She did bookkeeping for her husband’s business, Smyth Auto Supply, and worked in the church library as a member of First Christian Church.

Family members said she enjoyed reading, playing the piano, her pets and created wonderful crocheted gifts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, two John Angwin and Everett Angwin; a sister, Marion Johnson; two sons, John Hammar and Neil Hammar; and a grandson, Matthew Hammar.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Arnold Harry Hammar (and wife, Janice), Ronald James Hammar (Carla), Wayne Lee Hammar (Wilma); 14 grandchildren, James, Eric, Kathy, Karen, Kasey, Michael, Kelly, Carl, Debbie, Andrew, Jason, Keith, Julie, Charlie; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Dee, Faith, Nyleen, Edith and Sheila; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to First Christian Church of Clovis, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fla., 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
