11/6 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

At 2 a.m. Thursday, police officers searched an SUV with four juvenile males inside. The car was parked in a soccer field on the 2600 block of Echols Street. The car had a broken light, the driver failed a field sobriety test and the car smelled of marijuana. The police found beer cans and marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was charged with minor in possession of alcohol, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. One of the juvenile males had a scale in his pocket and was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The two other passengers were charged with minor in possession of alcohol, concealing ID and possession of marijuana.

At 3 a.m. Thursday, police officers and a police K-9 responded to a motion-activated alarm that went off in a business on the 100 block of Manana Street. Police noticed a roof vent on top of the store had been pried open, and a red backpack was left next to the vent. After the storeowner arrived, the dog searched the store. Nothing was reported missing from the business.

At 6:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2000 block of Grayson Court to arrest a male, which the detectives had in custody on an outstanding warrant. The man was brought to the Curry County Adult Detention Center for failing to comply with conditions of his probation.

At 7 a.m. on Thursday, police officers responded to a call from a residence on the 3100 block of La Luz Street. A woman said her car had been vandalized. Police noticed the car’s windshield on the passenger side was smashed by a pumpkin, causing an estimated $200 in damages. The woman said the incident occurred sometime Wednesday night.
