In an effort to right-size and shape the force for the future, Air Force officials have approved an annual board that will evaluate officers for continued service at their three-year point as part of the service’s force management program.
The first Force Shaping board is scheduled to convene April 3, 2006 at the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC). The board will evaluate active duty line officers in the 2002 and 2003 accession year groups except those officers who have less than two years current active service or 15 or more years of active service as of Sept. 29, 2006.
Brig. Gen. Thomas Andersen, 12th Air Force vice commander, will be at Cannon Air Force Base Nov. 15 to present the Air Force’s Force Shaping plan for 2006. This briefing will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the base theater.
The briefing is mandatory for lieutenants affected by the board; all company grade officers and commanders are welcome to attend. All affected lieutenants will receive email notification from the military personnel flight (MPF).
Further information on Force Shaping can be found at the AFPC Website http://www.afpc.randolph. af.mil/retsep/shape.htm. The MPF is the base focal point for Force Shaping.
