Pentagon Channel makes debut on Cannon’s CAC

Many that tune into channel 12, the Commander’s Access Channel, will notice a change in its programming. Earlier this week, the public affairs office began airing a satellite feed from the Pentagon Channel on the Commander’s Access Channel.

The Pentagon Channel reaches 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces, through programming such as: Department of Defense news briefings, military news, interviews with top defense officials, and short stories about the work of our military.

Th Pentagon Channel offers several original programs, such as:

Around The Services from the Pentagon Channel news center is a daily, half-hour program featuring military news from top defense officials and the military services from around the world.

Pentagon Channel Reports, a one-minute news update, airs at the top of each hour and is produced by the Pentagon Channel news room. These briefs keep viewers up to date on what’s important with the Department of Defense.

RECON is an original Pentagon Channel series featuring a monthly, half-hour informational television program providing an in-depth look on a variety of topics from real world operations, missions, military events/history and other subjects highlighting the accomplishments of U.S. military men and women.

Studio Five, a conversation with the military, contains interviews with defense department leaders about today’s top issues and is produced by the Pentagon Channel news center in Alexandria, Va.

Battleground, a Pentagon Channel original series, features historic films from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

On Assignment, a theme-based news program, focuses on Air Force issues covering Europe, Southwest Asia and Africa and is produced by the Air Force Broadcasting Service, Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany.

Air Force Prime Time, a weekly topical news program, covers Air Force events and people for all of Europe, Southwest Asia and Africa and is also produced by the Air Force Broadcasting Service, Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany.

Eye On Nellis, a monthly news program about a variety of command topics produced by Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

The Pentagon Channel also features programming that comes direct from Iraq. Including:

Freedom Journal Iraq, a daily news program, is produced by American Forces Network, Iraq. The program focuses on military missions, operations and U.S. military forces in Iraq.

The Stallion Report, a bi-weekly news program from Mosul, Iraq, is produced by the 366th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, part of Multi-National Force-Northwest and Task Force Freedom.
