United Way yard sale to benefit hurricane victims

Staff reports

The United Way is sponsoring a yard sale to offer relief to the recent hurricane victims. The sale will take place at the Curry County Fairgrounds from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1

Laurie Bentley of the United Way said area residents can drop off donated items on Sept. 24 and Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Curry County Fairgrounds.

“Clothing, household items and furniture are all great,” Bentley said. “Anything to bring in the bucks.”

Bentley said volunteers are needed to work three-hour shifts. “We really need people to call and book a time to volunteer,” Bentley said. Volunteers can call 769-2103 to sign up.
