Byrna Moore

Services: 10 a.m. (CDT) Saturday at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas.

Byrna Dean Hicks Moore, 73, of Waco, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, in Waco.

She was born on July 30, 1932, in Portales, to Myrtle Kelley and Lafayette Hicks.

She graduated from Portales High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University, the University of New Mexico and Sul Ross State University, where she earned a degree. She married Kenneth Moore on Dec. 23, 1954. They moved to Roswell where she served as secretary to the superintendent of schools. Later, they moved to Eagle Pass, Texas, where they worked in the school system until moving to Marble Falls, Texas, in 1967. She taught at the Junior High in Marble Falls for 30 years before her retirement in 1997.

Family members said she enjoyed rock and mineral collecting, photography and reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Moore Dibrell (and husband, Mark) of Hewitt, Texas; two sons, Dr. Steven Moore (Connie) of Searcy, Ark., and Grant Moore (Donna) of Wylie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Allison and Meredith Dibrell of Hewitt, Texas, Rachel and Benjamin Moore of Searcy, Ark., and Aaron, Jennifer and Kelly Moore of Wylie, Texas; her mother-in-law, Syble Moore, of Portales; and two brother-in-laws, Dean Moore (Helen) of Portales and Leon Moore (Paula) of Las Cruces; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas section of the Marble Falls Library or a favorite charity.

Delores Hayes

Services: 11 a.m. (EDT) Saturday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home in Macon, Ga.

Delores Turner Hayes, 48, of Portales, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, in Roswell.

She is survived by her husband, Walt Hayes; a daughter, Carmen Cimino (and husband, Jeremy) of Jacksonville, N.C.; a son, Nathan Rivers of Jacksonville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Jean Cimino of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sisters, Charlene Cameron (Duncan) of Macon, Ga., Betty Moreland (Richard) of Deland, Fla., and Fran Cain (Bill) of Diamondhead, Miss.; two brothers, Charles Turner (Sarah) and Ronnie Turner (Deborah), both of Macon, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Georgia Bridges will officiate the services.

Burial is at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery of Macon, Ga.

Harry Anson

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.

Mr. Harry E. Anson, 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born on March 18, 1923, in Wichita, Kan., to William and Clara Anson.

He moved to Portales in the 1930s and has resided in the area since. He married Nadine Allen on Nov. 29, 1942, in Clovis. He retired after 35 years of service with the Santa Fe Railroad. He owned and operated Anson’s TV Service as a second occupation.

Family members said he loved music and played the guitar and harmonica, loved to have fun and enjoyed vacation trips, outings, and reunions. He and his wife played and sang at nursing homes and the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Anson; two sisters, Margie Stringer and Betty Schlasman; a grandson, Chad Burke; a great-granddaughter, Tamara Rose Anson; and a daughter-in-law, Floy Anson.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Bob Anson (and wife, Betty) of Arkansas City, Kan., Ronny Anson (Debbie) of Cleveland, Okla., and Larry Anson (Sarah) of Rolla, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon Miller (Steve) of Greshem, Ore., and Kathy Broach (Jim) of Cleveland, Okla.; four sisters, Jean Workheiser and Cleta Nutt, both of Clovis, Althea Mann of White Swan, Wash., and Dorothy Smith of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

The Rev. Kenneth Dunsworth will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Grady Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Tommy, Adam, Terry, Ronny and Randy Anson, Billy and Bryan Roach, Andrew Thornbury and Juan Chacon.

Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Anson, Shawn Burke and David Palady.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Street Baptist Church, 1217 Oak St., Clovis, N.M. 88101.
