Jewel A. Sasser, 82, of Clovis, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1922, in Springer, to George and Lizzie Gleaton Anderson.
She married Nolan A. Sasser on July 16, 1944, in Clovis. She was a co-owner of Sasser’s Western Wear in Clovis. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Altrusa International, the Women’s Bowling Association and she assisted with Meals-on-Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Stanley Sasser; three brothers, Carl, Mose and Joe Anderson; and three sisters, L. Sinclair, Thelma Anderson and Eva Teal.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Sasser of Clovis; a son, Sterling Sasser of Clovis; a brother, Doug Anderson of Indiana; six sisters, May Hodge, Helen Newman, Frances Nahlousky and Blanch Boyd, all of Fort Sumner, Fern Hay of Milensand and Wanda Mechnig of Roswell; three grandchildren, Randy Snyder (and wife, Jennifer), Greg Snyder (Laurie) and Forrest Sasser; and eight great-grandchildren, Krystal, Jessica, Grant, Celeste, Alyssa, Nicholas and Kate Snyder, and Chloe Sasser.
Joel Horne and Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
