Ray Watson, 81, of Clovis, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare Center in Clovis.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1923, in Mountain Park, Okla., to Phil and Willie Watson.
He married Bernice Banks on July 14, 1946, in Snyder, Okla. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Morse Telegraph Club and the Men’s Bible Class. Family members said he was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis Watson (and wife, Betty) of Irving, Texas, and Phil Watson of Albuquerque; a daughter, Janice Sherrer (Chuck) of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Fern Wyatt of Oklahoma City, and Wilma Oakley of Midwest City, Okla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Cecil Bunch will officiate the services.
Burial will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Mountain Park Cemetery in Mountain Park, Okla.
Pallbearers are Johnny Jenkins, Thomas, Mitch, Donald and Clint Watson, and Julie Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Men’s Bible Class, AT&SF Railroaders, and his many golfing buddies.
