Mrs. Margie Prather Hammond, 77, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at her home.
She was born on May 5, 1927, in Crowell, Texas, to Jack and Bonnie Prather.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred Cornelious; and two brothers, “Pecos” and “Red” Prather.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Hammond of Mount Pleasant; a son, Michael (and wife, Linda) of Mount Pleasant; a grandson, Josh Hammond (Christy) of Cedar Hill, Texas; a granddaughter, Heather Grissom of Mount Pleasant; a great-granddaughter, Paige Grissom of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, Bob Prather (Veda Mae) of Fort Sumner, Troy Prather (Thelma) of Clovis and Tex Prather (Mary) of Henrietta, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rev. Doyle Hayes and Horace Hammond will officiate the services
Burial will be at East New Hope Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
Pallbearers are Josh Hammond, Jeremy Grissom, Tim Anderson, Joel Chapman, Paul Ray Lindsey, Dale McCleery, Randy Stainer and Johnny Hollingsworth.
Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Nelson, David Watson and Dennis Roberts.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cypress Basin Hospice in Mount Pleasant.
Arrangements are by Curry-Welborn Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
