Filomena “Mena” Montoya, 90, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at her home.
She was born on July 1, 1914, in La Pintada, to Severo and Conrada Cordova Sisneros.
She married Eugenio Montoya on Nov. 27, 1933, in Willard. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time at the Senior Friendship Center. Family members said she loved to dance, enjoyed listening to her husband play in the band, and loved and cared for her dog, Pommy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Boney Montoya; three grandsons, Gary, Michael, and Alex Hernandez; a great-grandson, Eddie Boy Jimenez; a sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tony Montoya (and wife, Lupe) and Frank Montoya, all of Clovis; six daughters, Nancy Hernandez (Henry) of Amarillo, Lena Juarbe (Robert) of San Antonio, Texas, Susie Almodovar (Sonny) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Claudy Cruz (Eddie), Mickie Heath (Paul), and Patsy Padilla (Danny), all of Clovis; three sisters, Carmen Salazar, Albina Martinez, and Cova Madrid, all of Clovis; a brother, Napoleon Sisneros of Clovis; 44 grandchildren; 144 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Wallace Nance will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be held at a later date at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
The family will be at 1800 W. Grand in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
