Gene Russell Galloway, 78, of Belen, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004.

He was born in 1925.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. His second retirement was from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft after 23 years of service. He and his wife were stationed in various parts of the world. Family members said he enjoyed gardening, sports, and woodwork, and was a bird lover who enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds.

Survivors include his wife, Eddie Jo of Belen; a daughter Debra Gene Jackson (and husband, David) of Clovis; two sisters, Jane Elizabeth Horn (Fred) and Shirley Van Ettinger (Tom) of Kingsport, Tenn.; a brother, Vernon Galloway, of Kingsport, Tenn.; three grandsons, James Ryan Lewter, Corey Russell Lewter, and David Conner Jackson; a great-granddaughter, Jaidyn J’nae Jacquez.

Cremation will take place.

The Rev. Jay Armstrong will officiate the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice, Attention: Foundation Hospice Unit 8300 Constitution NE Albuquerque 87110.

Arrangements are by Riverside Funeral Home of Belen.
