Rio Rancho 69, Valley 68

The Rams earned another spot in the championship of the tournament by consistently holding leads of around 10 points until a late Vikings run shaved the final deficit to one.

Rio Rancho (7-4) was led by senior Chris Williams (26 points) and freshman brother Marcus Williams (12).

Eric Concini, who missed a 3-pointer to tie in the closing seconds, paced Valley (8-2) with 16 points.

Lovington 91, Keene 60

Lovington outscored Keene 61-31 in the second half for a blowout win that was close going into halftime.

Jared Swenson scored 27 points while Ryan Hargrove scored all his 25 points in the second half while hitting five 3-pointers for Lovington (7-2).

Joe Meyers and had 13 points and Kendell Howel 12 for Keene (8-8).

Abilene Cooper 51, Tascosa 43

Ryan Harp scored 18 points as Abilene Cooper (7-9) made a 10-point first quarter lead stand up in a 51-43 win over Tascosa.

Girls

Abilene Cooper 46, Gadsden 39

Ashley Brown hit 12 of 14 free throws on her way to 17 points as Cooper (11-7) held off Gadsden.

Eddi Anaya led Gadsden (2-8) with 16 points and made eight of nine free throws.

Farmington 56, Carlsbad 49

Randi Grimes scored 19 points, leading Farmington (6-4) to the 56-49 win.

Carolyn Smith hit seven 3-pointers and scored 30 points for Carlsbad (9-3).

Rio Rancho 51, Portales 25

Rio Rancho (10-2) hounded the Lady Rams from start to finish, forcing Portales into more turnovers (31) than shots (25) and rolling to a 51-25 victory in the championship semifinals of the Plateau Holiday Classic.

While they struggled all game long, the Lady Rams (5-6) had a particularly hard time in the first three quarters when they committed 27 turnovers while managing only three field goals.
