Lady Tigers advance to semifinals

ROSWELL — The Elida Lady Tigers outscored Roswell Goddard “C” team 23-4 in the third quarter to break open a close game en route to a 53-29 victory over the Lady Rockets Monday in a quarterfinal game of a tournament hosted by Goddard.

Senior Adrienne Coe scored 17 points for the Lady Tigers (5-3), who meet either the Alamogordo junior varsity or the Roswell High JV in a 7 p.m. championship semifinal today.

Elida’s JV is also playing in the tournament, and absorbed a 40-31 loss from the Goddard JV. Elida, which faces the Artesia JV at 3 p.m. today, was led by10 points from Nicole Jasso.
