Dec. 22 South County News

The south county has hundreds of acres of irrigated crops each year and are grateful for the underground water. When we have a year with good fresh rain on crops and pastures it helps out tremendously. It also makes the expense of farming cheaper.

The crops are beter than usual this year and there have been some good averages. Most harvesting has gone well the past couple of weeks and will soon all be done — if the weather stays good.

Sympathy

Mavis and Weldon Carmichael received a call a few days ago about the death of one of her sisters, Jaunel Bible in Longview, Texas. The funeral was Wednesday morning in Longview. The family lived in Lamesa, Texas and raised their two sons and four daughters in Lamesa. They were neighbors and friends of the Carmichaels and Petersons who have been in Roosevelt County since the early ’40s. Our sympathy to all the relatives there and here.

Merry Christmas

To all our readers and friends everywhere, wishing each and everyone of you a wonderful Christmas and very happy and prosperous new year.
