Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Curry County United Way has added nearly $40,000 to its pledges in the past week, bringing the tally to $367,557.
The late surge puts the organization above the 2003 total, but about 7 percent short of its 2004 goal of $392,500.
“I doubt we’ll reach the goal, but we are very happy to be over what we accomplished last year,” Executive Director Erinn Burch said.
She said all programs funded this year could potentially be financed in 2005, since the total amount has exceeded last year’s total of $356,952. However, just which programs will be funded will not be known until well after the new year.
The application deadline is Jan. 15 and organizations should not expect any 2005 money until at least March 1, Burch said.
