Dec. 1 Dora News

I have not heard any farmers complain about so much rain, but when I told one of them I was praying for some sunshine so they can all get the crops in, he thanked me and said we have needed rain so long he was so glad he could make a good crop but he sure does need to get his hay baled and milo combined.

We on dry land farms know how bad the years of drought have hurt us. But a good crop isn’t worth much unless you can harvest and get it in the bank. We should have good underground moisture for the next year.

Sympathy

To the family in the death of a dear mother and grand-mother in our area, Jessie Cathey. She was one of our dear friends for years and many of her offspring still live in our midst. She and Nolan operated the Pep store for years and she was Pep postmaster also.

We will all miss her, but the memories will ever be present reminders of her graciousness.

Notice

To the Dora parents, there will be school on Dec. 13. Also, students get out on Dec. 17 for Christmas. Be sure to make your plans accordingly.
