William Herring, 72, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was born on March 25, 1932, in Flag, Texas, to Earnest and Ruby Herring.

Family members said he was a well-known horse trader and colorful resident of Clovis for many years. The family thanks everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers.

A private burial service for family only will be held later.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
