Spotlight on…

The first-graders have been learning about a variety of different things so far this year. In addition to writing workshops, they have been learning about desert animals, and the election process, and will participate in a mock election this week.

They have also gone to the Floyd Fire Department and learned about fire safety, and participated in Red Ribbon Week.

Kathleen Wagner is the first-grade teacher. She is a graduate of Floyd High School and has been teaching in Portales for seven years. This is her first year teaching at Floyd.
