Teresa Swaim, 30

Teresa Swaim, 30, of Portales, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at her home.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1973, in Clovis, to Jolene and Will Jaquess.

She grew up in Clovis and Portales. She also lived in Denver and Albuquerque before returning to Portales. She married Cody Swaim on Oct. 18, 1997. She worked in the accounting office at the local Wal-Mart for five years. Family members said she enjoyed cooking, cross-stitching, growing flowers and making floral arrangements. She attended Faith Christian Family Church in Clovis.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Bessie Jaquess; and by a number of aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Cody James Swaim of Portales; her father, Will Jaquess (and wife, Diane) of San Antonio; her mother, Jolene Perkins (Mike) of Sentinel, Okla.; her mother and father-in-law, Becky and Don Swaim of Portales; her grandparents, Joyce and Dale Vandiver of Albuquerque and Ethel and K.P. Jaquess and Lavern Robbins, all of Portales; a great-grandmother, Avis Simpson of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Darrel Jaquess of San Antonio and Russell Perkins of Denver; two sisters, Sue Reynoso (Angel) of LaVernia, Texas, and Pamela Warrlock of San Antonio; a brother-in-law, Tim Swaim of Portales; a niece, Laci Warrlock; and numerous cousins.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Portales. The Rev. Don Hay will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joe Terry, Heath and Brian Jaquess, James Chambers, Tim Swaim, and Angel Reynoso.
