WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University took the season series from Midwestern State 2-1, beating the Lady Indians 30-27, 30-27, 20-30, 30-22 Monday night in a Lone Star Conference crossover match.
Senior outside hitter Anna Bellum posted team highs of 15 kills and 16 digs for the Zias (12-3), who won for the 11th time in 12 matches and avenged a loss to MSU (8-12) in an LSC crossover tournament over the weekend in Abilene Texas.
Portales junior Olivia Boan collected five of ENMU’s nine service aces in the match, and was one of five Zias in double figures in digs with 10. Sophomore middle blocker Grace George had 12 kills and six total blocks, including two block solos.
Sophomore middle hitter Abbi Meyer had 13 kills for the Lady Indians, while junior outside hitter Kate Pence added 12 kills and 20 digs.
The Zias open LSC South Division play on the road this week, traveling to Angelo State (13-4) for a 6 p.m. (MDT) match on Thursday and to Abilene Christian (14-5) in a 10 a.m. (MDT) start on Saturday.
