Upcoming Events

• Friday will be an ELS day.

• The homecoming bonfire will be Oct. 15th. Homecoming will be Oct. 16 against Clovis Christian.

• Junior Carnival will be October 29.

Changes regarding ELS Day

The school has sent home letters to all parents regarding changes to ELS day. All Elementary students are encouraged to attend school that day. Any student with an 80 percent average in each class can choose whether or not to come to school that day. Those with below 80 average must come to school from 8 a.m. to noon. Buses will run at noon.

Another new program that will be implemented on Oct. 6th is an AfterSchool Make-Up Period. Students who are behind on their work will be required to stay after school until 4 p.m. to make it up. Parents will be notified if their child will need to attend. Transportation will be provided, or parents may pick their child up at the school. Please call the office if you plan to pick your child up.

State Fair Results

The following students participated at the State Fair in Albuquerque:

Swine: Brook Reed-1st place medium heavy cross; Stormy McBride-5th place Hampshire.

Lambs: Chay Chenault, Chet Chenault, Darcee Chenault, Jewie Paiz.

Steers: Lacee Bilbrey, Brandi Paiz, Jewlie Paiz, Kody Paiz, Sixto Paiz.

The Eastern New Mexico State Fair will be in Roswell Oct. 4-8.

Athletics

Football: Thursday, JV and Varsity at Logan, 4:30 p.m.

Volleyball: Monday, Junior High, JV and Varsity versus Dora at Floyd, 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Junior High, JV and Varsity versus Melrose at Melrose, 4:30 p.m.; Thursday--Junior High, JV and Varsity versus Elida at Elida, 4 p.m.

Report Card Night

Oct. 21 will be Report Card night. School will let out at 1:30 p.m. that day. Parents should come to school between 6 and 8 p.m. to pick up report cards.
