Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police were dispatched Sept. 3 to the 400 block of Manana in reference to a burglary in progress.

The resident said she heard two loud bangs from the direction of her back yard. She saw that her the storm door to her dining room was open, as well as the back gate to her yard.

She went to the ally where she made contact with the male subject. She asked him if he had been in her back yard.

He replied no, and then started running down the alley.

Police inspected the door that had been kicked open and obtained fingerprint evidence from the glass section of the door.

The resident was able to identified the suspect through police photos.

This case is still active.

Police responded Sept. 7 to a shoplifting complaint at a retail store.

The store agent apprehended a female subject trying to make off with around $20 in jewelry.

When the officer arrived, he issued the subject a misdemeanor citation.

Police were dispatched Sept. 7 to the 3700 block of Lew Wallace in response to a complaint of criminal damage to a car.

The reporting officer observed bright orange spray paint on the side of a Dodge Neon.

The victim believes the incident happen between about 4 p.m. Sept. 4 and 3 p.m. Sept. 6.

A neighbor had filed a similar complaint on Sept. 6.

Neither victim could provide any suspect information.
