Elsie Elizabeth Borden, 89
Elsie Elizabeth Borden, 89, of Hobbs, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at the Hobbs Health Care.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1916, in Portales.
She married E.M. “Buzz” Borden Jr. on April 27, 1933. Family members said she was a member of the Church of Christ for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Howey and Oma Richards; her husband; her daughter, Lou Cox; five brothers, Claude, Clifford, Elbert and Albert Howey and Charles Richards.
Survivors include a son, Eli Borden (and wife, Wilsie) of Hobbs; a daughter, Fran Borden of Firestone, Colo.; a son-in-law, James Cox of Smyer, Texas; two sisters, Elva Travis of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lillian Higgs of Clovis; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. (CDT) today at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel in Lubbock. Eli Borden will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock.
