Police Blotter: 8-29-04

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police responded Tuesday to a local school where a teacher complained of having been pushed by a student.

The male subject had received in-school suspension for two days. While suspended he became unruly, throwing books, pushing desks, and breaking pens.

When the teacher asked the male subject for a pen on the second day of suspension, the request was denied. The teacher then removed the pen from the student.

Things escalated from there. The student stood up and gave the teacher at least three bumps on the shoulder as he walked around the room. The final bump occurred as the student walked out the door.

No action was taken against the student.

Police responded on Tuesday night to the 1500 block of Waldhauser where an unidentified subject tagged a personal workshop with what may be gang graffiti.

No suspects were identified at the time of the call, but the on-scene officer put a close watch on the area in hopes of finding the tagger.

Police were dispatched Wednesday morning to the 1400 block of Fairway Terrace in reference to a stolen radio.

When the officer arrived on scene, the owner of a vehicle said an unknown subject had entered into his truck and ripped off his stereo.

The truck was noticeably damaged on the dashboard but there was no apparent forced entry into the vehicle. The truck owner said he may have left it unlocked.

Estimated value of the damage was $300.
