George “Billy” Torres Jr., 53, of Clovis, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Sinton, Texas, to George Sr. and Susie Herrera Torres.
He married Lilly Marmolejo on April 10, 1973, in Loresa, Texas. He worked in construction. Family members said he loved fishing, crafts, softball, camping, family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rosie Agular.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Christina Torres of Clovis; a son, Billy Torres of Las Cruces; three brothers, Frank Torres of Eric, Mich., Rudy Torres of Midland, Texas, and Bobby Torres of Toleto, Ohio; six sisters, Viola Salinas of Bovina, Linda Torres of Lamesa, Texas, Mary Ann Losoya of Lamesa, Texas, Gracy Rushing of Big Spring, Texas, Anna Hernandez of Tucson, Ariz., and Diana Torres of Lamesa, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Richard Jr. and Ronnie Romero, Lupe Salinas, Pete Rocha and Ben Gonzalez.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
