Iola Mae Coggins, 101, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Hugo, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, in Paducah, Ky.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1902, in Ashdown, Ark., to O.D. and Annie Conger Turner.
She married J. Homer Coggins in 1920, in Ashdown, Ark. Family members said she loved card games, especially bridge, and she was an accomplished organist and pianist. She played for silent films. She was the organist for the First Baptist Church in Hugo for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Homer D. Coggins (and wife, Dorothy) of Benton, Ky., and Paul E. Coggins (Becky) of Portales; seven grandchildren, Frank and Pam Coggins, Paul E. and Regina Coggins, Carrie and Jerry Stoltz, John and Cathy Coggins, Mark and Wendy Coggins, Cathy and Dale Hancock and Cheryl and Jim Devoe; 11 great-grandchildren, Tim Coggins, Carol McBride, Anita Richard, Laura Coggins, Adam Hancock, Josh Hancock, Jake Hancock, Zack Stoltz, Christina Devoe, Allison Devoe and Jessica Coggins; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla.
The Rev. Doug McClure officiated the services.
Arrangements were by Prater-Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home Chapel of Hugo, Okla.
