Mr. Arliegh E. Richmond, 72, a retired law officer, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, in Logan.

Mr. Richmond was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Phoenix.

He was retired from a life-long dedication to law enforcement. He had been chief deputy with the Navajo County’s sheriff’s office and undersheriff at Maricopa County, Ariz. He also worked with the Arizona livestock commission. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Richmond is survived by his wife, Wanda, of Logan; two sons, Michael (and wife Mary) of Grantsville, Utah, and Mark (Kathy) of Belen; two daughters, Karen Griffin (Don) of Farmington, and Kathy Miller (Tony) of Holbrook, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Mickey Richmond of Buckeye, Ariz., and his mother, Mary Richmond of Tucumcari.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday in Melrose. Burial was in Melrose Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home in Tucumcari.
