Marie Clay, 91, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Laural Ridge Health Care in Clovis.

She was born on Feb. 9, 1913, in Corsicana, Texas, to William File and Dela Sesser Mullins.

She married John Clay on Feb. 9, 1952, in Lovington. She was of the Methodist faith. She came to Clovis in 1971 from Roswell where she worked as a maid for two different families for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband; a step-son, Alfred Clay of Tipton, Ga.; a nephew, William “Beverly” Reagor of Denver; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Joe Callahan will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
