Martin, Leland

Leland C. Martin, 71, of Lubbock, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, in Lubbock.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1932, in Temple, Texas, to Richard and Elise Mounce Martin.

He graduated from Clovis High School. After high school, he married Kathy Christopher and moved to Dalhart, Texas, where he worked as a bookkeeper at Hilton Hotel. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to Lubbock. While in Lubbock, he worked for Reeves Camera and Photo Engraving and Hemphill Wells. He then married Brenda Jones and moved to Georgia where he owned three Radio Shack dealerships.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Martin (and wife, Peggy) and Glenn Martin (Lucy), all of Lubbock; a brother, James Martin (Claria) of Albuquerque; and three grandsons, Chris, Bryan and Lance.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery in Clovis.
