Eloy Cardenas, 89, of Muleshoe, died Monday, June 21, 2004, in Muleshoe.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1915, in Maxwell.
He married Celia Romero in 1964, in Muleshoe. He was a World War II veteran in the Army spending three and one half years as a prisoner of war in the Japanese concentration camp. He worked for the Muleshoe School District as a custodian.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Samuel Cardenas of Stafford, Va.; two step-daughters, Andrieta Salas of Amarillo and Gasparita Martinez of Lyons, Kan.; four grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Sarah and Samuel Anthony; and a great-granddaughter.
Father Joe Augustine will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery.
