Sofia Rivera, 87, of Clovis, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1916, in Millersview, Texas, to Sixto Terrazas and Leandra Guzman.
She was a homemaker and a member of Iglesia Bautista Belen Church in Clovis. She married Marselo Rivera on Dec. 2, 1944, in Millersview, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Leandro, Canuto, Tom and Tilano Terrazas; and a sister, Sara Pena.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Ancira of Albuquerque, Lydia Smith (and husband, Joe) of Texico, Liz Horner (Harvey) of Texico and Rachel Roy (Richard) of Clovis; two sons, Ruben Rivera (Margie) of Friona and Benjamin Rivera of Phoenix; a sister, Virginia Hill of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton in Clovis.
The Rev. Brenton Franks and the Rev. Pedro Escobar will officiate the services.
Pallbearers are Moises Ancira Jr., Scott Smith, Corey Horner, Michael Roy, Aaron Rivera and George Madrid.
Honorary pallbearers are Eric Smith, Joseph Smith, Chris Roy, Stacy Roy, Joshua Rivera, and Ben Rivera.
The family will be at 105 Hummingbird Place or 212 Chanticleer in Clovis.
